Recap: OMBC at the Oregon Trails Summit

For the third annual Oregon Trails Summit in Roseburg, OMBC integrated committee members into the rich content of the scheduled program rather than focusing on a separate meeting. We provided a statewide update, served on a panel session and helped facilitate two hands-on workshops.

Jenna Berman provided our update to all attendees, highlighting our current member groups (14 total!), our Spring meeting in Westfir, and our ongoing work to establish OMBC as an organization that supports our many successful local groups. Adam Craig served as a panelist discussing engagement strategies for the US Forest Service and Chris Rotvik helped facilitate a workshop on horse and bike dynamics. Following the Summit, Gabe Tiller and Woody Keen partnered with Trailkeepers of Oregon to host a trail stewardship work party on the North Umpqua Trail (or, the “NUT”).

Overall, it was a great event with plenty of opportunities to network across user groups. Equestrians, hikers and mountain bikers were out in full force. We were honored to participate and appreciate all of your support as we continue to navigate Oregon’s MTB landscape - looking for the best opportunities to fill in advocacy gaps and elevate the mountain bike voice to the state level.
